Shieldmaiden specialises in Historically accurate heraldic & traditional design decorated artifacts.

I have made -

• full size shields for family names,
• clan fighting shields,
• small shield-shaped wall plaques,
• decorative pieces with real gold and silver leaf,
• altar plaques depicting sun and moon symbols or with woven oak and holly leaves designs,
• Celtic knot work crosses or animals
• variations on green men/women.

The shields can be from full size fighting weight for reenactment to small decorative versions.

I will research names and invent or draw from experience or your design, medieval heraldic / Celtic / Norse shields, plaques, wall or altar pieces.

Most designs are done on wood and / or canvas and can be made weather proof. I can also do work on fine paper suitable for mounting in a frame.

Each piece is unique and made with care for the individual.
